- yarg 2y agoWe have adaptive immune systems. Exposure to disease allows us to respond to more dangerous related diseases - if this weren't true vaccination never would have worked.
- yarg 2y agoThe word vaccine actually results from this fact - it derives from the latin word for cow. We (I say we) used cowpox to immunise against smallpox.
