Twitter publishes the names of 7 account owners that led to Brazil ban
- loeg 2y agoDoes anyone Brazilian recognize the accounts or can translate some of what they were saying? Or does the court order come with some rationale? I don't have any context for what happened here.
- matheusmoreira 2y agoBrazilian here. I can translate and attempt to provide context but I do not have access to twitter.com. Would you mind hosting a copy of the content on a different domain? I managed to get it archived: https://archive.ph/2YJI1 https://archive.ph/2YJI1 I can make out some of the names but the full image is unavailable. I'll make further edits to this post with more details. > Ednardo D'Ávila Mello Raposo YouTuber and Bolsonaro supporter, apparently. It's unclear to me what exactly got this guy into this list. > Claudio Rogasane da Luz I have no idea who this person is and searching for his name didn't even yield exact matches. > Josias Pereira Lima Seems to be another YouTuber. Also not clear to me what exactly got him into this list. > Marcos Ribeiro do Val https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcos_do_Val https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marcos_do_Val A senator who had some kind of spat with one supreme court judge as well as some kind of involvement in the January 8th protest. > Paola da Silva Daniel Wife of Daniel Silveira, another politician. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Silveira https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daniel_Silveira This guy actually wanted Bolsonaro to close down the supreme court if they didn't implement an auditable paper trail in the voting machines. No doubt they're after him because of that. They're after his wife because apparently she posted one of his videos. > Sandra Mara Volf Pedro Eustaquio > Mariana Volf Pedro Eustáquio The mother of a 16 year old girl, and the 16 year old girl herself. According to news, the women had their electronics and passports seized and were prohibited from directly or indirectly posting on social media, on pain of imprisonment and the omnipresent 10kUSD/day fine. Apparently the husband/father Oswaldo Eustáquio is a blogger and Bolsonaro supporter who participated in the January 8th protest and later fled to Spain. Judge said they were helping him escape justice.
- explain 2y agoYeah, all of whom have their names in their usernames or their profiles.
