I would also say that migration to WordPress is explicitly a marketing strategy for word press, their main product.
Migrating a product you bought to be part of your main product is a pretty common corporate move.

- chambers 2y agoMigrating an acquired company's infra to a parent company's infra is common. But marketing it to the world, before starting it, and without a clear product strategy to justify it, is pretty uncommon. For me, it smells of messiness that translates into wasted eng time.
