The Root Causes of Failure for AI Projects and How They Can Succeed
- morkalork 2y ago>First, industry stakeholders often misunderstand — or miscommunicate — what problem needs to be solved using AI. Second, many AI projects fail because the organization lacks the necessary data to adequately train an effective AI model. Third, in some cases, AI projects fail because the organization focuses more on using the latest and greatest technology than on solving real problems for their intended users. Fourth, organizations might not have adequate infrastructure to manage their data and deploy completed AI models, which increases the likelihood of project failure. Finally, in some cases, AI projects fail because the technology is applied to problems that are too difficult for AI to solve. Yes.
- namaria 2y agoSo because people don't know how to use it, run it or even build it properly? Do we even know what 'it' is? What does anyone mean when they say 'AI'? A lot of problems start from everyone using the same word but meaning different dreamed up magic.
- atoav 2y agoAs I said when the recent AI craze started: In the end everybody wishes AI was just a magic wand that you wave at things and it somehow telepathically figures out what you wanted and then deliveres a better result than all well researched and tested methods before. I said that because this was how I thought about certain technologies myself when I was young and naive. Every technology has it's limitations and applications where it absolutely shines. Us wishing that a piece of technology didn't had those limitations doesn't make it so. In fact given a wrong enough use case no amount of money will make a cetain technology work.
