- eimrine 2y agoThank you for the responce but the article is about warning which obviously is a part of X's censourship but this is innocent because real censourship is about deleting/lowering in search/shadowbanning/messing with paying advertizers - deplatforming in one word. Warning is that kind of censourship which is happening inside of speaker's head, this is more like a self-censourship because the person thinks whether he/she should use the specific word in the world of euphemisms. The real censourship is whether deplatforming happens or not. It may happen with or without warning, also deplatforming may not happen after the warn and this is why I consider your example as something innocent.
- Hikikomori 2y agoWarning? Messages containing that is removed, is that not censorship? Did you consider that advertisers are leaving because they don't want their ads next to right wing extremist and nazis spewing their shit?
- eimrine 2y agoI don't believe those messages are really removed for users from any country by the fact of having the word in your tweet, just use 1337 wording if the warning bothers you. Advertizers which don't want their ads next to right wing content should really prefer seing their ads next to left wing extremism elsewhere. Nazis are really a different talk, they are not even the right wing.
- nurettin 2y agoIt isn't a slur, but it starts heated conversations because we already have "gay" and "straight" it's like someone coming up to you and saying you are FAE! well what's a fae? It derives from middle earth lore, it means white person! well I don't want to be called a fae! And the fae user accuses the non-user of a bunch of crimes and starts grandstanding. It's just bad UX for both sides.
- reify 2y agoI am not a fan of Elon or what he stands for but this is very hypocritical to say the least The only non agenda driven articles in the Guardian are the crosswords From funding relationships with the Ford, Rockefeller, and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation which has given the guardain $5 million. Its clear that most of their news is agenda driven I am sure if Elon donated $5 million to the guardian this article would not exist
