Ignoring the what, million+ people out of jobs, the second and 3rd order effects would be astronomical. Vendors of contractors, vendors of vendors of contractors, internationally, all lose their revenue streams. There would be no time to recover. Phase it out over 10 years, I mean maybe then it wouldn’t be a complete collapse, but fuck would It be ugly.
