Aren't all programs just wrappers around kernel calls?
- yjftsjthsd-h 2y agoThe important bits of most applications aren't in syscalls; the important bits of a SaaS app might well be a program it wraps. Or not, of course; sometimes an easy UI is the important bit.
- eknkc 2y agoNot the kernel.. (insert ackchyually meme here)
- bee_rider 2y agoLuckily, we’ve overloaded the work kernel, so yes—we can all agree that every program is a kernel calls. Every useful program is just a fancy wrapper around DGEMM kernels.
- jvanderbot 2y agoAh yes, but in what order should you make those system calls? Tapping with a hammer: $2. Knowing where to tap: $9,998.00
- sshine 2y agoReally, it's all just wrappers around the strong nuclear force.

- thiht 2y agoFunny to think the strong nuclear force is just one dude’s underfunded and barely maintained side project that might collapse some day
