You are not wrong particularly, though you don't say which problem you are concerned about with Reddit, and you completely fail to mention any sort of alternative. When someone asks “how do I X” and the only answer is “do Y”, just saying “don't do Y” is not helpful because that amounts to “don't do X” and the original asker might not have/want that option.
