I write fullstack web applications in Rust, client-side too with a shim for interfacing with some JS for the DOM.
So, I can agree with you in the abstract, but I'm gonna have to see you as part of the crowd that "hasn't figured it out yet".
- minkles 2y agoOh wow so you write fancy crud apps on the web? I've already got 300 people who can do that in C# (.net core) already. Why do I need any Rust people? What I need is people who can write very complex rule and constraint engines, mathematicians and statisticians to deliver some business value, not crud monkeys.
- commercialnix 2y ago> I've already got 300 people [..] Given the style of writing and argumentation you have prevented here, no one with leadership experience in the software industry is going to actually believe you. Maybe they're lateral to you. And, even then, arguing quantity of engineers over quality of engineers is a pretty bad argument, especially on this site. So, yeah.
- minkles 2y agoI think you should look into a mirror and think hard.

- commercialnix 2y agoYou already posted one of the dumbest things ever posted on this site. "no u" isn't going to change that.
- wizzwizz4 2y agoEvery program I've seen like that is terribly inaccessible. "Doesn't expose headings to screen readers" levels of inaccessible. And yes, you can do a whole lot of working around that, but you know what I'd do? <h2>Section heading</h2> I like Rust, but please don't write a website in it.
- minkles 2y agoYeah that. Just because you have a rusty hammer doesn't mean it is the right solution for the problem.
- commercialnix 2y agoWe didn't replace the HTML with Rust, if that's what you thought you were getting at. We use HTMX.
