Funny, I developed a similar ping system for Prometheus, to monitor a Kubernetes edge cluster: https://github.com/remram44/prometheus-ping https://github.com/remram44/prometheus-ping I did rewrite it in Rust (from original Python) over latency concerns from the language, but it did not make much difference in the end.
