I wonder if a footballer has every played both legs of a Champions League knockout game for different teams? (I don't think this could happen because the transfer window wouldn't be open during that period.)
- lores 2y agoPlayers who play for one team in the Champions League are even explicitly barred from playing for another in it in the same year. It avoids players getting poached in January, and perhaps shenanigans with loans and recalls.
- ktallett 2y agoI don't believe that would be possible. Morientes of course was on loan at Monaco in 03/04 from Real Madrid and scored a goal in either leg against them to take the tie to penalties and subsequently allowed Monaco to go thru.
