Apple got where it is though by focusing mostly on the consumer and only a little on the pro user.
- ghaff 2y agoYeah. The Xserve went nowhere and they mostly succeeded in business because (at least some classes of) users became much more able to dictate the devices they used for work.
- mike_hearn 2y agoApple survived and grew originally by catering to pro designer types. They still have significant business from professional users on the Mac side, whether those are artists or developers. This is despite not really trying hard for a long time. They could easily grow their market share there.
