Should we teach children to memorize the multiplication tables?

- fuzzfactor 2y agoThere's plenty of useless things they have always been memorizing anyway, whether they actually even try for so much of it.
- asimpleusecase 2y agoIt’s not just higher reasoning. Just try to buy something with cash and try to give the cashier “extra” change so you get back a whole bill and see how the cashier handles it. Total $5.17 give the cashier $10.17 and look for a $5 bill back- I often see the cashier look quite flustered and grabbing their phone but not really sure what to do.
