Show HN: Drama Engine: A Framework for Narrative Agents
I've built a framework for orchestrating a group of agents that you can talk to that runs directly in the browser.
The Drama Engine is a framework for agentic interaction with language models. It is written in TypeScript to execute in any browser, enabling front-end developers to create a party of virtual companions that chats, works, and potentially slays dragons with you.
- yodon 2y agoIncluding some sample transcripts on the website would be a big help to folks trying to understand this project.
- martinpi 2y agoI'll add some examples – in the meantime you can see the current version in action in our Writers Room (http://writers-room.com http://writers-room.com) and play around with it. Maybe I should add that fact to the documentation too. Thanks!
- yodon 2y agoHow does this compare to other multi-agent systems, like AutoGen from Microsoft Research?
- martinpi 2y agoThe core is heavily inspired by AutoGen. The main difference is that ours runs in the client/browser in case of a web application (both can run in terminals). We're also less focussed on the generate -> critique/run -> re-generate loop that AutoGen was built for and more aiming for a system that supports natural sounding multi-participant chat.
- vishrajiv 2y agoI like the concept. Have you seen any interesting patterns of users preferring a certain persona or even a group of personas? I wonder if writers like using this to communicate with a virtual character from their world. Or perhaps they prefer editors.
