- nadis 2y agoThe story that really stuck out to me is the one about Sonos. I'll confess I'm not a paying subscriber, so I first found this via X and then dug in on reddit and am curious what else the newsletter says. TL;DR it seems like Sonos released a new app that led to big regressions in reliability, usability and functionality vs the old one. But they also claim they can't revert to the old one because firmware updates have rendered the older version of the app also less reliable and stable. This seems very wild, and Gergely introduces two good points that I'll reframe as questions: (1) how did the end up releasing a new app version that had so many issues - where did testing go wrong? (2) why didn't they have a rollback plan? There's more context from Gergely in this post on X: https://x.com/GergelyOrosz/status/1826657853337145562 https://x.com/GergelyOrosz/status/1826657853337145562 And more context from the Sonos team on their subreddit here: https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/comments/1ew62yv/august_office_hours_w_keithfromsonos/ https://www.reddit.com/r/sonos/comments/1ew62yv/august_offic...
