I recall hearing on the radio about 20 years ago a story (most probably apocryphal) about how the nazis sent a train full of rubbish to Switzerland trying to provoke them and join the war. But the swiss get rid of the rubbish, cleaned the train, put flowers and food in it and sent it back to Germany with a giant banner saying something along the lines of "Each one gives the best of themselves"
