  It's funny, I have this printer too. It's indeed a nice workhorse. Inkjet doesn't suit me due to the high heat where I live and low usage in this day and age, leading to dried out printheads. This laser is great. Although unfortunately Brother has started to enshittify too, apparently its colour lasers now refuse to calibrate (align) when third-party toners are being used :( I don't have a link right now, didn't save it. Not an issue with my b/w printer but it's sad to hear.

    I've a colour Brother printer now, after two BWs that lasted about ten years each. I thought about it and decided it was OK in this case — calibrating colours is hard enough if you know the manufacturing tolerances of the inks, I can see why one might reasonably choose to avoid calibrating with low-cost third-party inks.
