This reminds me of an incident that happened recently on a visit to Grandma and Grandad's house. I was talking to my elderly Dad about an issue he was having at his club. To summarise his point he used an almightly slur, which knocked me backwards, especially as my two young boys were sat nearby. I didn't react as I didn't want to draw attention to it. Anyone who has young kids will know how they love to pick up new words they shoudn't use. Fortunately it went right over their heads, but, for me, this is exactly why we should move language forward.
