Ask HN: Does AGPLv3 cover cloud gaming?
- seveibar 2y agoIANAL but yea probably? Same as any cloud server. I’m not sure of an AGPL game or technology would ever be knowingly used inside a cloud service
- 3np 2y agoYes, always. (If you want a more nuanced answer, we need a more nuanced question. I general, the AGPL is applicable in cloud-gaming as well as bakeries and at high altutide. I hope you play fair by making source of your AGPL-code-enabled backends available to gamers!)
- dulvui 2y agoThanks, next time I'll make a more nuanced question, promise. I'm building open source games, not a cloud gaming platform. So I was just curious if the AGPL covers also cloud gaming, since I didn't really find something on the web to that specific topic.
