Google can't defend shady Chrome data hoarding as "browser agnostic," court says
- wkat4242 2y agoThe legalese here is a bit mind-numbing but as I understand it, the core of the issue is that Google collected Chrome users' browsing history, even when they opted it syncing their account. While this doesn't suprise me and I've used Firefox mostly exclusively for lack of trust in Google, i do find this concerning. I wonder what info was collected, how it was collected, where it is or was stored and how I can request an overview and deletion of this. Here in the EU Google must provide these things. I hope this gets picked up in the EU for more in depth mitigation than just a lawsuit that will drag on for years and is mostly monetary. I don't really care about that, I just want the issue removed.
