Show HN: I built a tool that turns every issue in the project to a tiny-invoice
Does this make sense?
So, here’s the context: I ran a product design agency for about 3 years and grew it to 6 figures. For those 3 years, we never got the invoice cleared on time.
We would chat with the client regularly, 2-3 times a week on average, get some work approved to move on. But, when it came to the invoice, it never got paid on time.
So, I thought, how about we turn each task into an invoice that gets auto paid on approval from the client. Like an escrow, but on a much granular-task level.
This ensures work is paid on time regularly, and there’s no need to raise invoices, follow ups or get stressed due to payment delays.
I have a few dozen users on the beta waitlist, too.
What do you guys think?
- sparrish 2y agoI like the idea but I think the transaction fees would could rack up quickly for a highly detailed project. Can you batch them all to once a day or once a week?
- Jay_D 2y agoThe transaction fee comes into picture only once during the entire project. Here’s the breakdown. 1. Users start a project and send it for review 2.Client, signs up, approves and pre-funds its (escrow-like). These funds sit in an escrow like account with us. 3.The user creates tasks and assign budget from the funds. 4.When the work is done, the user moves the task for review (approval workflow) 5.If the client approves, the funds assigned to the task move to your account. If he doesn’t, he can request/specify modifications. (Payment workflow) Hope I made sense.
- Jay_D 2y agoThere is a fee that gets piled up during ‘payout’ though - when we send money to users bank. As you mentioned, this can be made to do batch wise daily or weekly or manually :)
