The spec has an answer for the "transient element" issue: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Accessibility/ARIA/ARIA_Live_Regions https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/Accessibility/A.... Of course, this doesn't eliminate the possibility of bad UX.
