- al_borland 2y agoI don't think the finger pointing can end there. Whose decision was it to outsource the decision to the computer? The voters? Ok... Whose decision was it to move forward with the computer's decision after reading it?
- jrflowers 2y ago> Whose decision was it to outsource the decision to the computer? The voters? The mayor. The dumb guy saying dumb things to get people to vote for him does not get a special extra layer of deniability because his dumb thing is “computer” instead of e.g. astrology or the channeled spirit of Mae West
- al_borland 2y agoI said the voters there, because the voters voted for him, knowing he was going to use ChatGPT. While I don't personally think the voters are 100% responsible for the actions of an elected official once elected, in the game of finger pointing, I'm sure it would get pointed back to them... "well, you voted for it!" That's where the next level comes in. It is still on the elected official, because he should have the good sense to step in when it's saying to do something stupid or reckless.
