You sent me down an interesting rabbit hole researching far left disinformation. What I've learned is the far left tends to exaggerate rather than outright lie, there's usually a kernel of truth in what's being said. The deplorable conditions that have arisen to handle the influx of immigrants are "concentration camps." The ill effects of global warming are often exaggerated, which doesn't help because global warming is an actual problem we need to solve. Exaggerated claims just feed fuel to the deniers and now both sides have their heels dug in, going nowhere. Claiming US police are engaging in "genocide" against African Americans, which isn't true, but there are injustices and pervasive, systemic racism that we need to resolve. Again, the lying is preventing any progress being made on effective policy.
So, as of now in 2024, it appears the far right is more likely to just make stuff up, and the far left is more likely to make exaggerated claims. I'm not saying one form of lying is better or worse than the other, in fact I think we'd all agree on this pervasive lying by both sides is another root cause of the problems we face today, but both sides do appear to have different strategies with their lies.
That's interesting! Thanks for sending me down that rabbit hole!
