This is a good point. I've always thought a constitutional amendment to make every law in the books auto sunset, unless explicitly voted in by congress I would think this would have made the PATRIOT ACT obsolete some time ago, among other things

The Patriot act was reauthorized (in part) several times, but expired in 2020.
