DOS, Win16/Win32/Win64, Kernel, User, GDI/DirectX, etc. and many versions of them from Win 1, 2, 3, NT, 95, etc. And of course computers getting orders of magnitude faster/larger/cheaper with efficient/lazy human nature. I used to program Atari assembly/machine language (even made a Boulder Dash clone with level editor back in the day) but wouldn't do it today except for a gag/laugh or reminiscing.
