A star-like thing is flying 1M MPH. It'll escape the galaxy
- pavel_lishin 2y agoFans of Larry Niven will, of course, recognize this as an intergalactic vehicle, a traveling Ringworld. (Or a more modern version, a Shkadov thruster.)
- dsq 2y agoI am at once fascinated and terrified.
- dsq 2y agoWell, thats about 447 kilometers per second. Our sun orbits the galactic center at 251 km per second. The difference in in direction, outwards rather than in orbit. I'm curious whether it is trailing an exhaust plume. That would be a pretty definite clincher for it being artificial.
