Please read the above comment again. And again. It captures the essence of the struggling artist, and their perhaps seemingly mediocre output, better than anything else I've ever read before. Also keep in mind that when people look at art, they're often placing the artist somewhere along this path into the uncharted; appreciating their struggle and being curious about where they will move next.
