A Nazi Villa So Tainted Berlin Can't Give It Away

- defrost 2y agoIt's not a great cost to just run a D-9 or larger bulldozer backwards and forwards a few times and truck the rubble elsewhere. Then it's just a clean slate land sale issue and not one of bizarre cults settling into fetishizing Goebbels and hyping a fourth Reich. It's not the only example of a state government being left holding the deed to real estate with a toxic history. eg: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-08-04/katanning-hostel-child-abuse-survivors-demolition-call/104171414 https://www.abc.net.au/news/2024-08-04/katanning-hostel-chil...
- aurizon 2y agoI wonder if a go-fund-me campaign could raise the funds to buy it, and break each stone and brick away. These stones/cement/bricks to be then rendered into dust via a mining crusher and buried in the deep sea. The basement can be filled with earth. Old clay/stone/cement will have no toxic residue. All metals/nails smelted, wood burned. This would leave a flat unbroken area, where grass could grow? No memorial or other marking to show what was once there. Had this been done in 1945, it would be a faded memory by now...
