I’ve run into this exact same issue with many of the self hosted wikis/tools. Some of the ones I had interest in like Trilium don’t have native support and you have to use a plug-in hack to see both the code and the preview, or you have to click back and forth between rendering and redoing. I just wouldn’t have markdown in my software if I wasn’t going to support a preview.
