- exe34 2y agoWhat does genocide mean in this context? Are you referring to information provided by Hamas? Or information that the UN repeats on behalf of Hamas?
- equilibrium 2y agoFirst remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye.

- woodruffw 2y ago> Is criticizing the current genocide also anti-semetic? No. Did I say that?
- zo1 2y agoIf you're phrasing the entire situation as a genocide, then arguably yes, because you're doing it to the detriment of the Jewish people and arguably on purpose because the word and it's application here is gooey and not straightforward. Why didn't we call the US invasion of Iraq extermination, or occupation, or bullying, or or or. Heck, there have been actual Genocide events around the world, and we only 50/50 end up defining them as such. But hey, the one with the most control over feelings and the media is the one that defines the situation. It's optics and marketing, and we all know why people are trying to coalesce around the word "genocide" because it has the most amount of impact, even though it's arguably not correct and also correct in some other ways. So it forces us to sit here debating it, instead of helping the innocent people on the ground. But no one will ask "hey, let's just resettle the entire Palestinian population." or "Hey, lets get all the children out of this conflict zone, and then we can have the debate.".
- aguaviva 2y agoBut no one will ask "hey, let's just resettle the entire Palestinian population." Are you suggesting this is a viable course of action to take? I'm genuinely unsure of how to read the intent behind this snippet.
