Writing papers is now confused with conclusive credibility and it is a MULTI BILLION DOLLAR house of cards (in which real science and engineering happens too.) Though one could say trillions. The nature of existential Truth is still the good stuff, yet our entire culture of thought is being upended by modernity. Choosing values isn't to blame so much as the mass struggle for agreeable self indulgent assertions as to what truth may be and how it is individually (or globally) worth something.
