Yeah, about that. An alarmingly significant part of Gen Z and younger gens reportedly claim that strangling is a standard part of sex. 1/4 (or more) are claiming a non-binary status (which in itself is fine on an individual level but alarming as a trend) There's hardly anything positive about this "revolution".
We should clearly start working on ways to reliably postpone children's contact with online porn. Until somebody proves otherwise, we should think there's an obvious causation here.
- popcalc 2y agoWhat's the cause for alarm?
- happymellon 2y ago> reportedly claim that strangling is a standard part of sex. That "standard sex" is stimulation of genitals. Strangling is not.
- popcalc 2y agoOK, how’s that an issue?
- JackSlateur 2y agoWhat is the issue when people associate "inflict pain to other" with "taking pleasure for myself" ? I dunno man, I dunno.
- popcalc 2y agoThere's a technique to it and properly done not painful but pleasurable from the oxygen restriction.
- squigz 2y agoChoking has been a pretty common act in sex for many, many years. I don't think it's anything new, and I doubt it's much more prevalent in the younger generations
- darthrupert 2y agoUnfortunately not just my opinion. See for instance https://www.svt.se/nyheter/granskning/ug/unga-om-hart-sex-strypgrepp-typ-normen https://www.svt.se/nyheter/granskning/ug/unga-om-hart-sex-st... I don't doubt that it has been done before, and I think consenting adults should be able to do nearly everything. But by children and young adults as part of their first sexual experiences? That's a bad trend.
