Nor drivers that use "I didn't see him".
- lupusreal 2y ago"Use"? Do you think people who wreck their own car in a crash with a motorcycle are lying about not seeing the motorcycle? That's some real persecution complex shit my dude.
- meowster 2y agoIt's called Selective Attention which explained in another comment: > Notably, people tend to see what they expect to see. > When they are looking for cars, they tend not to see motorcycles, even when they are in plain view. Watch/take this Selective Attention test (1 min 22 sec): https://youtube.com/watch?v=vJG698U2Mvo https://youtube.com/watch?v=vJG698U2Mvo
- K0balt 2y agoNotably, people tend to see what they expect to see. When they are looking for cars, they tend not to see motorcycles, even when they are in plain view. OTOH, motorcycles can fit into blind spots on cars that other cars cannot, often into blind spots that typically go unnoticed.
- meowster 2y ago> blind spots on cars "Believe it or not, some drivers point their side mirrors inward — so they see only their own cars — instead of rotating them outward" [2]. Blind spots are self-induced. I've never driven a consumer vehicle where I couldn't adjust my mirrors properly to get rid of blindspots. - K0balt 2y agoYou’ve never had the pleasure of driving my car lol, I think they got the mirror curvature wrong or something. I had to put one of those convex stick on things just to see decently, but it’s distracting and adds to cognitive load to use two mirrors instead of one to see the right side.
