Show HN: Stock Exchange of Creators
tldr: Been working on Exponent, a stock exchange app of creators, on the side for sometime, and launched yesterday! Would love to get your opinions, thoughts and feedback, ama! PS: Initial app load might take some time.
Exponent is a stock exchange platform of creators where creators can raise capital from their followers in exchange for tradable digital assets/shares. Works like a typical stock market, IPOs and trading (no web3, no crypto, no nft).
Mission is to enable creators (selectively) to leverage their follower base and raise capital for their brands/ventures/big budget long term projects.
We launched with the fantasy app yesterday. Based on feedback in the private beta, realised that a fantasy app will help people understand this new asset class and overall concept without hesitation of putting real money into this platform. Will be launching the real money app soon!
You can check out the application, subscribe to the first creator IPO (IPO closes in 15 days) and also suggest creators that you'd like to see on Exponent.
Cheers! ♥
- breck 2y agoI really like this idea space. I hope you can pull it off. Please have the highest standards for honesty and integrity--not having that is what killed BitClout. Good luck! Here's my user test: https://www.loom.com/share/8b8920febd9f47a686e63280bedd70b6?sid=14c0a481-6c8e-4ed9-84d5-dab2a442ad2e https://www.loom.com/share/8b8920febd9f47a686e63280bedd70b6?...
- judegibbs8 2y agoHey Breck! You're an absolute gem! Thanks for the feedback. My goal is to keep Exponent as simple for users as much as possible (no nft, no web3, no crypto, no fluff whatsoever). This concept is very difficult to grasp at first, based on what I gathered from my private beta. Exponent is not going have a social media element to it, rather we'd use a creator's existing social platforms as leverage. But yes, being transparent, honest and "fun" is what I'm trying to showcase with Exponent.
- judegibbs8 2y agoAlso, I could see that on the Exchange screen, you weren't able to discover the IPOs tab to view and subscribe to the IPO we created. Will fix this in order to make it more prominent. Would love your feedback on the IPO subscribe flow too, if you get the chance to check it out.
