And yet the vast majority of Canadians live happy, productive lives. Our healthcare system does indeed have major problems (waiting list lengths in particular), but everybody has coverage. And as for low wages, that is why so many supposedly U.S. films and TV shows are produced here. And corruption? According to the World Justice Project, Canada ranks 12th out of 140 countries, while the U.S. ranks 26th (Denmark is 1st). And while I am not keen on some of the political parties vying for our favor in the next federal election, not one of them has said that it will abandon the rule of law if elected.
I tend to find that any argument that uses the word “woke” is generally not worth refuting in detail.
- d13 2y agoI’m Canadian and moved to UK 5 years ago. I’m experiencing significantly lower cost of living, comparatively affordable housing, higher salaries, much more dynamic economy and better employment opportunities, vastly better healthcare system and social services, better support for immigrants, understandable and accessible government services and in general a far more caring and cohesive culture. All this for no more than I was paying in taxes in Canada.
