Silphium used to exist which is a natural chemical birth control and there are of course less reliable methods. Not that pregnancy really stops women anyway. I think the idea of contraception makes them a little more open to promiscuity but I personally know a number of married women who have had children with other men and these dating sites are full of single mothers.
