I absolutely hate how they won't explain crucial gameplay details (never mind the confusing story/lore) and somehow that's part of the experience. DS2 seems particularly bad (case in point, that ridiculous adaptability stat - also I had now idea where to go 90% of the time). That said, DS1 is still a great game that's insanely replayable.
