I miss when dating sites weren't predatory and horrible. I used OKCupid a long time ago (like 2004-ish from memory) and met some wonderful and interesting people there. Then they got acquired and it went down hill. A few years ago I tried signing up again, but couldn't because they demanded my phone number.
Now I'm back in the dating pool, but I don't really know where to go, because all these services are in a race to being the most terrible. At this point I feel like going full Kaczynski, minus the exposives, because everything has been enshittified.
- PaulHoule 2y agoThey’re all owned by the same company so there is “race” (competition) to the bottom, they are just going there because that’s where they want to be.
