Is anyone familiar with what happens at the end of trials like these? I assume this was a very late stage of trial - do the participants get a lifetime of treatment? I'm doubtful 43k/yr is anywhere near affordable, amd stopping after a successful trial seems so cruel.
- sddsdd 2y agoIn this particular trial it wasn't used for treatment but for prevention, the patients don't have HIV (and none had it at the end of the trial either because it was so successful!) That said: generally there's no guarantee of continued treatment.
