Not in the article but (pulling this out of my ass here) I wonder if ternary logic is ever so slightly more quantum resistant since modeling ternary systems using a "natural" spin-1 (-1, 0, 1) system is way less accessible vs spin-1/2 systems which "naturally" model binary operations
