- choilive 2y agoThese seem like criticisms of the US healthcare system and not against pharma companies in general. The wikipedia article you linked even says so: > The epidemic has been described as a "uniquely American problem". The structure of the US healthcare system, in which people not qualifying for government programs are required to obtain private insurance, favors prescribing drugs over more expensive therapies. Also, not all pharma companies are criminals like Purdue pharma.
