You'll be funding the russian war in Ukraine indirectly (with the taxes paid by these developers).
- aristofun 2y agoTo be fair whatever taxes you pay - you sponsor some war at some point in time (because military is a substantial part of the budget of any developed country). Though I agree with your sentiment in general.
- gtirloni 2y agoI agree with the sentiment as well and thank OP for reminding us of this, but sometimes you can't exercise your principles because more practical matters take precedence. Presumably, these developers are already working, know the codebase well and deliver. To take the time and money required to replace them (which wouldn't be fair to them, mind you, they may be against the war as many Russians are) would be a much larger donation to the anti-war movement than the company is prepared to make. Maybe to offset it the company could device to donate to some war relief fund, much like carbon credits.
