Why would someone think that 51 years old engineer can't continue doing driver development in C++ or any other tech tasks? Is it that kind of shop that expected you to "advance" to management path but since you "stayed" in the IC role, they think you've failed?
- pmotive 2y agoNo, this is a voluntary package.. I could stay, but they are offering such a good package I almost have no choice but to take it. This company is going to lose a lot of experienced people, but they need to save a shit ton of money by next year.
- zerr 2y agoTake the package and continue working as an external consultant/contractor :)
