Of course. That's my favorite thing about my (not-MS) advisor too: when we talk, she never fails to mention (multiple times) that I can lose everything I invest, with no recurse.
They take the commission regardless I won or lose, their job couldn't be more secure. They couldn't care less what happens with my money, once they have a part of it in their pockets.
