We shouldn’t have demonized Oxy in the first place. The relatively easy access to Oxy had been preventing so many deaths all these years but once Oxy became hard to get people ended up getting tainted supply from the streets instead. There’s significant evidence that outside of a small group of people, drugs themselves don’t lead to addiction but people’s lives and circumstances do. Getting rid of the Oxy didn’t solve the addiction crisis and Oxy didn’t create the addiction crisis (although it may have exacerbated it slightly). It just led to a lot of unnecessary deaths.
