I think they are working out how to make money. They need to keep doubling revenue to support the spending needed to build next generation models. I have a different view from article on OpenAI paying for data access. That looks more like a moat to me than a flaw. AI agents will be near useless if they are all blocked in the web. If OpenAI builds exclusive or such expensive partnerships that others are squeezed out they could be building a very strategic advantage
