As someone interested in learning to fly this is very cool. Congrats on the launch! > an aviation grade GPS can cost upwards of $10k, but it’s the same hardware as in a $20 consumer grade GPS I think the cost of aviation hardware might be much higher because of issues with precision, insurance, updates, redundancy and the very small volumes compared to consumer volumes. Is there a way to certify consumer hardware for aviation applications or are there essentially monopolies and regulatory capture that limit cheaper alternatives from entering the market?
