Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon – Postgres Style
- ninju 2y ago> The highest number I have found so far is a 3 for Gates McFadden, who played Doctor Crusher in Star Trek: The Next Generation. WOW! I knew Kevin Bacon was a prolific actor but I'm surprised the *maximum* separation is only 3
- eszed 2y agoFWIW, my Bacon number (so far as I know) is 3 - but I have it two ways, with completely different people in the middle. <shrug> I'm not on IMDB (never did any major major movies), so my connections go through theatre, which I did professionally for over a decade. Actors (or, well, theatre actors!) generally think that counts.
- lsaferite 2y agoIf being an extra in a movie can be counted, my number would be 3 as well. Never thought to check that until just now.
- JohnMakin 2y agoThink this would be the case for many arbitrary actors. If every actor is in a film with ~10 other actors, after 6 jumps you can see how it'd probably be an astronomically low chance of someone not making it into that graph.
- saurik 2y agoFWIW, Gates McFadden was in an episode of ST:TNG called "The Wounded" along with Bob Gunton, who was in JFK (along with Kevin Bacon). https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0708825/ https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0708825/ https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0102138/ https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0102138/ Oh, and I guess I forgot about the Oracle of Bacon... they have a variety of ways using only movies to get her down to 2. https://oracleofbacon.org/movielinks.php https://oracleofbacon.org/movielinks.php
