The main thing I use ChatGPT for at this point is tip-of-my-tongue type questions... "What's the name for when you..." or "What's the word for...". I didn't see that in any of the examples they listed, but it is the one category of question ChatGPT has never failed to nail for me, and basically the only thing I trust it to do anymore without double-checking its responses, or feeling like I've just wasted my time.
- elaus 2y agoI'm in the same boat. Things that are hard to search in a traditional search engine, because I can only describe them in crude or technically wrong words. Just this week I saw a street artist playing an obscure instrument but I wasn't able to "google" what it's called. But describing it in very simple, child-like terms to ChatGPT immediately returned the correct answer (hang drum).
- DaSHacka 2y agoI've recently begun asking it to clarify the source of video game screenshots and characters. Its been surprisingly good at it, especially when providing the context from other people in the thread (such as series lingo and acronyms that people didn't clarify)
